New Port Richey Fishing Charter Report October 2026

October Fishing Report: Cooling Water & Improving Inshore Fishing in New Port Richey, FL

Late October fishing around New Port Richey and the Anclote area has brought steadily dropping water temperatures, higher winds, and some hungry fish! Redfish, snook, and trout are still feeding well on live whitebait, making it a great time to get out on the water and enjoy some fall inshore fishing.

As water temperatures continue to fall, we’re getting closer to the seasonal transition to shrimp. The cooler water should also help fire up the sheepshead bite and improve trout fishing, while bringing smaller redfish into the mix. Snook can become more lethargic and less aggressive as temperatures drop, so adjusting our approach will be key to keeping rods bent.

Windier conditions can make finding bait and getting into productive fishing spots a little more challenging, but adapting to the conditions is all part of the game.

If you’re looking for a New Port Richey fishing charter this fall, late October is an exciting time to get on the water and experience Florida’s inshore fishing. From redfish and snook to trout and the upcoming sheepshead bite, there’s plenty to look forward to as we head deeper into fall!

NEW REVIEW!

Jason was great! He discounted our trip based on us not being able to go out for the four hours. Jason had us fishing some great spots and his knowledge helped us land some pretty big ones! Would highly recommend chartering with Jason and we are in fact using him again for a second trip! Jason rocks!
