January 1st - 5th, the cooler water started to move in. On the morning of New Year’s day, the water temperature was 70 degrees. By the end of the day on January 5th, it was 65 degrees. The Trout were hit or miss at the rockpiles the entire first week of January but the sheepshead were pretty much everywhere. Redfish and black drum were present on almost every trip deep back in the neighborhood. After 8 trips in 5 days, Fat Foam needed some work on the bilge pumps, bait pumps, and a good cleaning to get ready for more charters this month.
