New Port Richey Fishing Report December 2025
Smiling clients holding their catches with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, FL
🎣 Winter Fishing Report – New Port Richey, FL | JC Fishin Charters
If you’re looking for some of the best New Port Richey fishing for keeping fish, early winter conditions are delivering. Consistent cold fronts have pushed water temperatures into the mid-60s to low-70s, triggering reliable inshore feeding patterns. With the weather staying perfectly mild—not hot, not cold—JC Fishin Charters is experiencing prime action across New Port Richey’s inshore waters.
Right now, Sheepshead are in prime time. Local structure such as docks, oyster bars, bridges, and rock piles are already stacked with fish, and the numbers continue to build as the water cools. These hard-pulling, finicky feeders are not only exciting to catch but also one of the best-eating fish in our area, offering firm, clean, white fillets.
Juvenile Redfish have been very active as well, especially around mangrove points, creeks, and oyster edges. They’ve been hammering live shrimp, and while Reds are still catch-and-release only, the steady rod-bending action has been a highlight for anglers looking for fun, shallow-water opportunities.
Speckled Trout remain a reliable bycatch and are holding strong on grass flats, potholes, and edges with good tidal flow. As the water continues to cool, the Trout bite has stayed consistent, giving anglers plenty of chances to put quality keepers in the cooler.
With pleasant weather, cool mornings, and multiple species feeding aggressively, this is an excellent time to experience New Port Richey fishing charters at their best. Whether you’re targeting prime-time Sheepshead, picking up bonus Trout, or enjoying steady Redfish action on shrimp, JC Fishin Charters will put you on the fish and make sure you have an unforgettable day on the water.

NEW REVIEW!
“JC Charter was amazing from booking to after the trip. Every step along the way couldn’t have been better. JC was amazing he really put forth so much effort to make our trip special. We went wanting to catch Red fish and boy did we ever. Not to mention both me and my girlfriend caught the biggest fish of our lives, we each caught and landed a trophy sized Snook each. I had no expectations to catch. These fish but so happy to have done so. And I can’t forget we caught Speckled sea trout and lady fish. JC is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. I will be booking another trip when I return to New Port Richey next year. If you wanna have a great trip JC is your captain, remember it’s fishing not catching and if you live to fish with a great captain JC is the guy. Fish bite when they want but it was JC who got us to them. I couldn’t be happier with our trip and those are lifetime memories of the beautiful area and the chance to catch great fish. Now stop reading reviews and just Book with JC Charters. ”
