New Port Richey Fishing Report December 2025

Smiling clients holding their catches with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, FL

🎣 Winter Fishing Report – New Port Richey, FL | JC Fishin Charters

As cooler weather settles in along Florida’s Gulf Coast, inshore fishing in New Port Richey has been nothing short of excellent. Morning water temperatures are holding in the mid-60s to low-70s, and with cold fronts becoming more consistent, fish have shifted into strong early-winter feeding patterns. These conditions are creating some of the most reliable action of the season, and JC Fishin Charters, one of the top New Port Richey fishing charters, has been on steady bites daily.

The biggest change this month is the strong push of Sheepshead showing up on local structure. Docks, rock piles, oyster bars, and bridges are already loaded with fish, and numbers will only climb as temperatures cool. These striped bait-stealers aren’t just fun to target—they’re also one of the most delicious fish you can bring home, known for their firm, white, sweet-tasting fillets.

Redfish continue to feed aggressively around creeks, oyster points, and mangrove edges. Even though Redfish remain catch-and-release only, the action has been consistent and exciting. Calm mornings offer excellent sight-fishing opportunities, giving anglers great shots at quality fish pushing shallow.

Speckled Trout are also becoming more dependable across the flats, potholes, and grass edges. With cooling water and more frequent cold fronts, the Trout bite has picked up fast, and they remain one of the top keeper species this time of year. Live shrimp and small soft plastics have been producing impressive results.

With crisp mornings, steady tides, and multiple species chewing, winter is shaping up to be a fantastic time to get on the water. Whether you want to fill the cooler with Sheepshead and Trout or enjoy catch-and-release action with Redfish, JC Fishin Charters will make sure you’re on the fish and having a great day in New Port Richey.

NEW REVIEW!

JC Charter was amazing from booking to after the trip. Every step along the way couldn’t have been better. JC was amazing he really put forth so much effort to make our trip special. We went wanting to catch Red fish and boy did we ever. Not to mention both me and my girlfriend caught the biggest fish of our lives, we each caught and landed a trophy sized Snook each. I had no expectations to catch. These fish but so happy to have done so. And I can’t forget we caught Speckled sea trout and lady fish. JC is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. I will be booking another trip when I return to New Port Richey next year. If you wanna have a great trip JC is your captain, remember it’s fishing not catching and if you live to fish with a great captain JC is the guy. Fish bite when they want but it was JC who got us to them. I couldn’t be happier with our trip and those are lifetime memories of the beautiful area and the chance to catch great fish. Now stop reading reviews and just Book with JC Charters.
